Ernesto Enkerlin-Hoeflich

Ernesto Enkerlin-Hoeflich is an agronomist, ecologist, and conservationist best known for his pioneering research in parrot ecology and reproductive biology in the 1990s and his role as CEO of Mexico’s National Commission for Protected Areas (2001-2010). An emeritus professor in ecology and sustainability from Monterrey Tech in Mexico, he currently serves as scientific director for OVIS and leader and principal investigator for the five-year plan for recovery of the thick-billed parrot (2024-2028).
